A Flexible Grid That Optimizes Renewable Energy
Innovation. Simplicity. Global Impact.
Innovation With Purpose
Dynamic Grid has a history of Innovation beyond the edge of envelopes. The companies’ founders Dr. Caryl Johnson and Kay Aikin have spent their careers tackling the toughest challenges in science and engineering from seismology to the electrical grid. Today, we are focused on tackling the problems in the electrical grid, the most complex system created by man. We do this with an approach of exploring the edges of human understanding and questioning the orthodoxy of “settled” science. We think innovation should have a purpose, so we always ask questions.
Simplicity For Sustainability
Simple ideas withstand the test of time. Simplicity is scalable, and adaptable to changing conditions.
The utility industry needs to change their perspective from traditional top-down analytical engineering to the coordination of complex decentralized systems. Utility technologists and regulators must embrace the complexity, as Ecologist Eric Berlow illustrated where he said that as a researcher if you “embrace complexity the better chance you have finding simple answers and it is often different than the simple answer you started with.”[1] The goal in designing the energy transition should be to find the simplicity in the system, before complexity.

Global Change
Climate change is a global issue that requires global change.
When we develop solutions for the energy transition, we are supporting our own communities and country at the same time as we are thinking about global impact and change.
The beauty of simple ideas is that they can be applied at any scale, in any place. We’re thinking about solutions that benefit not just our immediate surroundings, but change the world.
